Quality Controller
McCormack Family Farms is a family-run fresh baby leaf, herb and micro grower and packing facility. We supply Ireland’s major food retailers and food service industry with our home-grown and imported produce.
Contract: This is a full-time contract.
The role: The role of a Quality Controller is to maintain HACCP procedures and quality control daily and support the Technical Manager in daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
The specific areas and main responsibilities of this role are mentioned below. This isn’t a fully exhaustive list.
- Work with the specifications as per customers’ and suppliers’ requirements
- Communicate product quality with suppliers and site management.
- Monitoring and reporting of quality standards to site management daily (raw material stock and pre-pack stock)
- Maintain full traceability of stock from intake to dispatch
- Liaise with all relevant site management with regard to customer requirements and product quality issues
- Logging supplier performance
- Carry out hygiene/GMP audits
- Ensuring HACCP and BRCGS principles are continuously met for product safety and process control
- Carry out internal audits.
- Assisting staff with information with respect to product quality, legality, and hygiene
- Assisting the Technical Manager in resolving any quality issues or other tasks where necessary
- Assisting the Technical Manager with audits such as BRCGS, Bord Bia, Global Gap and customer audits
- You will also be expected to carry out any additional duties that may be assigned to you by the Organisation from time to time
Key Skills and Competencies:
Qualifications/Experience
- A degree in Food Science or similar is desired but not essential. Full training will be provided to the right candidate
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in the food industry
- Experience in Food Safety audits
Key Behaviours and Abilitie
- Ability to work on your own initiative, work independently and have the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication/verbal/written skills
- Excellent attention to detail in relation to quality and traceability
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Flexible to the needs of the business
HGV, C&E Refrigerator Driver
McCormack Family Farms is a family-run fresh baby leaf, herb and micro grower and packing facility. We supply Ireland’s major food retailers and food service industry with our home-grown and imported produce.
Contract: This is a full-time contract.
The role: HGV, C&E Refrigerator Driver
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operating and driving a HGV Vehicle in compliance with all relevant traffic and safety regulations.
- Transport and deliver, unload goods to their respective destinations, to clients throughout Ireland
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance to ensure roadworthiness.
- Accurately complete delivery paperwork and maintain records as required.
- Interact Professionally with customers ensuring a positive delivery experience.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety.
Hours of work:
Weekly shifts between 45 and 60 hours. Weekend work is required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A Minimum of 1 year’s HGV driving experience
- Full, clean, current CE licence
- Tacho and up-to-date CPC cards
- Current Digital driving Card
- Current driver’s qualification card
- Experience: HGV Driving 1 year required
- Experience in tail lift deliveries
Job Details:
- This is a permanent position
- Hours of work: 46–60 per week; weekend work is required
- Based in Kiltale, Co Meath
- Must be flexible on hours of work, including weekend work
