Irish Hearts Love Loose and Lively Leaves
McCormack Family Farms were delighted to announce our new partnership with the Irish Heart Foundation which began on 20/04/2015! McCormack Family Farms will make a contribution to the charity from each Loose and Lively pack we sell until 31/10/2015!
Approximately 10,000 people die each year from cardiovascular disease (CVD) – including coronary heart disease (CHD), stroke and other circulatory diseases. CVD is the most common cause of death in Ireland, accounting for 32% of all deaths. The largest number of these deaths relate to CHD – mainly heart attack – at 5,000.
The Irish Heart Foundation:
• Provides information on heart health to the public and media
• Supports patients in managing heart disease and stroke
• Provides heart health programmes in schools and workplaces
• Co-ordinates the training of medics and the public in emergency lifesaving skills (CPR)
• Supports research, education and development in the medical profession
• Advocates better patient treatment and services
The Irish Heart Foundation are delighted to align themselves with our super healthy Loose & Lively salad leaves and we are excited to help them in their fight against heart disease in Ireland!
Raw Juice launches with Tesco Taste Bud
Tesco have re-branded their Supplier Development Programme as Tesco Taste Bud (#TescoTasteBud) and we are delighted to have been selected to participate on the programme for 2015!!
We are of course suppliers of Tesco already with our Loose & Lively leaves but are excited to launch our Raw Juice range in Tesco stores soon. Our involvement in the programme will help us build a presence on the shelves in Tesco as a local supplier!
To date, 50 Irish companies have completed the highly successful development programme, recording over €30 million worth of sales to Tesco stores, with nearly a quarter of this revenue generated in the UK, highlighting the export opportunities realised through the programme. Taste Bud is the only supplier development programme in Ireland offering Irish food and drink companies export potential to international markets and currently participating companies are collectively listed in over 1,000 Tesco stores.
We were delighted to attend the launch event in Leeson Street where Minister Simon Coveney and Bord Bia CEO Aidan Cotter were among those in attendance.
So keep an eye out for us on a Tesco shelf near you……
